Meet the Dentists
Dr. Shawn Michael McFarland
Shawn was born in Longmont, Colorado and moved to Tucson in 1979
when his father, Blair, was transferred to Tucson with IBM. He
received his education attending schools in TUSD and graduated
from Sabino High School in 1994. Shawn then attend the
University of Arizona graduating with a B.S. degree in Molecular
and Cellular Biology in 2000. That fall he entered dental school
at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. After school he
immediately returned to Tucson to associate with Dr. Knuth.
After a year and a half associateship and one year
partnership, Dr. Knuth sold his practice to Dr. McFarland. Shawn
married his wife Jessica in 1997. They enjoy spending time with
their four children: Cade, Calen, and twins Reese and Riley. His
favorite past-times include fly fishing, golf, church activity,
and football card collecting.
Dr. Randall Edwin Knuth
Dr. Knuth attended Marquette University School of Dentistry, graduating
in 1978 with honors. He acquired the existing building and practice and
has been at this location for over 30 years. Randy has been happily
married to Julie and enjoys his two boys Drew and Nick. The boys are
attending college at Northern Arizona University an Arizona State
University, respectively. Dr. Knuth directs the dental clinic at the
Children's Rehabilitation Center at Tucson Medical Center and has done
so for the past 15 years. Randy enjoys time with Julie at their place
in Coronado, CA as well as golf and car restoration. His latest project
is a beautiful Shelby Cobra replica.
Meet the Staff
Hygienists
- Marcie has been with
the practice for over 7 years and is a fantastic director of
oral hygiene. She is very skilled and knowledgeable about
hygiene. Our patients can attest to her thoroughness.
Office Management
- Vikki our former army
drill sergeant is anything but that. Vikki works extremely
hard at keeping us all in line and helping patients out with
the planning and organization or oral care. She is very
knowledgeable about dental insurance and does a great job at
helping people with their insurance utilization. It' s hard to
find Vikki without a smile.
- Melissa is our patient
care coordinator. You will usually find her at the welcoming
desk with a friendly greeting and desire to help. Whether it's
setting up an appointment or a good conversation, Melissa is
ready to help.
Dental Assistants
- Joelle: Jo has been
with us for over 15 years. She has a wealth of dental
knowledge and skill that is very valuable to the doctors and
patients. She is another member of the team that usually has a
smile and is very willing to help others out.
- Jen: Jen is a skilled
dental assistant who is willing to get her elbows dirty. If
you need something she is ready for the challenge. Jen is also
from Tucson and cares deeply about your experience at our
office.
